We're now used to joining in virtual events on our smart mobile devices - smartphones, etc.
But what will be the next evolution from our smartphones that let us attend virtual events while on the move?
We'll no doubt see more developments in the field of wearable technology, such as smart glasses. Once we can attend virtual events while on the move, we'll want to take those experiences with us wherever we go.
We'll start to see more innovative ways to interact with these experiences, such as voice control or gesture control, or even holograms where you could wave your hand over a surface and have it render virtual objects and scenes in real time.
These experiences will be personalized to your preferences and context - so if you're at home watching TV it may be different than if you were out at work or travelling abroad. And they'll be dynamic - so if there's an emergency or something interesting happening nearby then your virtual experience could change accordingly too.
With this new generation of augmented reality experiences we'll also see them being integrated into other areas of life too - not just entertainment but also education, health care and many others besides.
