Are you back in the office or working remotely?

Many people have had the experience of working in an office where they are not physically around their colleagues, who are working remotely. While this can be challenging, it is also a great opportunity to build relationships with people who work in other places.

There are so many benefits to having remote teams and one of the best is that it gives you the opportunity to create something unique for each person on your team.

Giving clear instructions to each team member for their work and having deadlines agreed is important. Also, keeping the lines of communication open so any issues can be dealt with. And, scheduling regular one-on-one calls with each member of your team.

But beyond this, how do you keep a remote team motivated?

One way is through online events.

Online events are great because they allow everyone on your team to participate at a time that works for them and from wherever they may be located.

You need to create stronger connections between your remote teams and increase engagement levels as well as productivity. Here are some tips for creating an effective online event:

• Keep it short! A good rule of thumb is not much longer than 30 minutes per meeting. If you go over this time frame, participants could get bored or distracted by other things going on at home or work and feel like they don't have enough time left in the day to participate fully in your event.
• Maybe, nothing work related - A competition or quiz.
• Training session to help your team upskill.
• Discussing new developments in your industry.
• Discussing ideas from each team member.
• Getting a team member to do a presentation on their ideas.
