Brand New - ShareYaarNow

Is it possible to have a brand when you are just starting out doing your events - when you are relatively new to the market?

In the early stages of your business, how much of your resources should you put into 'branding' and 'controlling the narrative' around your 'brand'?

What is a brand? It’s a concept, a feeling and an image. A brand is much more than just a logo or even a name. It’s what people think about you when they hear your name.

The term ‘branding’ is used to describe how companies use marketing to create an identity for their products, services and ideas. This identity can be visual (logo), verbal (name) or tangible (packaging).

What is your ‘brand’? This is not the same as asking what is your business model or what do you sell? Your ‘brand’ is what people think when they hear your name. It is the first impression that your business makes on others.

You need to think about the ‘brand’ you are creating. But when you are starting out and conducting your events and growing your business, you don’t really have a ‘brand’ yet. Maybe, you might think of ‘brand’ being associated with large companies that you are familiar with. See our earlier blog post: 'What is Your ‘Brand’?'.
