As an event marketer, you should try to get your events written up in a relevant trade journal, by a blogger or mentioned in a podcast. This allows you to reach new audiences and help your event gain traction.

Invite influential bloggers and podcasters who might be interested in attending.

If you don't have any connections with the press, then you could try submitting an article for publication on a press release distribution site.

Another option is to submit your story directly to a magazine that covers your niche. You might even be able to get some publicity just by setting up an interview with the editor of that magazine or someone else who writes for it.

Write guest blog posts. Guest blogging is one of the best ways to get your business and brand out there. If you have expertise in an area, write a guest post on someone else's blog. The person who owns the blog will be more likely to write about you if you've helped them out first.

Appear as a guest on a podcast.

Speak at conferences or other events related to your industry or niche market. If there's already an established event happening in your city or country, see if they'll let you speak on stage as part of their lineup.

The goal is to get people talking about your event so that when it comes time for them to book their next event, they'll think of you first!
