What economy are we in - creator economy, media economy, attention economy
or, event economy?
We're probably in all of them.
Technology has turned us all into event marketers. Hosting virtual events is
easier than ever. So, so many people are live streaming their events now.
Just imagine, at any point in time, how many virtual (and offline) events
are taking place around the world?
We are in the event economy.
We're seeing the rise of a new kind of economy, an "event economy"
where people come together to share in experiences in new ways.
What does this mean for marketers? It means that we need to start thinking
about how we create events and experiences for our customers. We need to start
thinking about how we can tap into the power of events and use them as a way to
engage with our customers.
We're living in a time when you can host an event at any time of
day or night and make it available to anyone who wants to watch it on their
phone, laptop or desktop computer at home or work. You can also host an event
live and then record it so that people can watch it later if they want to.
Each time someone watches your online event, they become an audience member
who enters into a relationship with you as a content creator and/or brand
representative by watching your content first-hand (which is often much more
personal than simply reading about something).
This new event economy is growing and changing continuously as new
technologies come to market.
How are you adapting to this change?
