If you are conducting a virtual networking event, it will not be easy, with the technology currently available, to give the same experience to your attendees as a live event at a venue.
Some ideas to think about:
- Let your attendees know the ground rules for your event beforehand
- If your attendees agree, let them know who will be attending, so they know in advance who they might like to connect with.
- If your live streaming platform allows, have breakout rooms so that your attendees can talk in small groups just as they would in an event at a venue – and let them leave and join groups as they would like.
- Perhaps, be more selective in who you invite to attend in order to suit the theme of your event
- Monitor and prevent any unsocial behaviour so that your attendees get the most value out of your event.
