As an event organizer, you need different skills to bring an event together. Event tech is there to help but without your input, an event won't get done. Event if it's a virtual event, you still need to put in a lot of effort to bring it to your audience.
Event planning is not something that anyone can do in five minutes or less so don't think that just because you're good at organizing meetings or conferences at work means that you'll be great at doing this as well.
