If you're hosting events, you need feedback from your audience. More thoughts from our last blog post. Audience members may be reluctant to give you their real thoughts on your events for various reasons. So, you need to create an atmosphere of confidence and trust with your audience.
Just as you put effort into your event, you need to put effort into how you go about getting feedback. With feedback, you need to see what works better for your audience. You will need to adjust your ways of getting feedback that suit your audience. The more you can improve the quality of the feedback you get, the better your events can get.
For example:
1. ask audience before your event what they might want included, timing, location etc.,;
2. you ask them during the event for feedback and what they might want in future. Get people to write down their thoughts as they go along — especially if they're attending a multi-day seminar or workshop. At the end of each day, ask everyone in the room to write down one thing they liked about the day and one thing they didn't like about it. Then read out these comments at the beginning of the next day's session. This may encourage more people to participate actively in discussions during breaks and lunchtime so that you have more feedback on hand when needed!
3. after your event you can ask for feedback
a) through a survey/questionnaire
b) video or audio chat with your audience members
c) via social media
d) via email
Maybe, incentivize them to give you feedback.
With feedback, you need to see what works better for your audience. You will need to adjust your ways of getting feedback that suit your audience.
Do your event - get feedback - make improvements - do next event and so on.
