As an event professional, or someone organizing and hosting your own events, you should design your events to give maximum value to your audience.
The first step is to understand what makes an event valuable. And the answer is, it depends on your audience.
This includes considering the following factors:
Audience – who are they? What are their interests? What will they expect from your event? How can you make sure that they have a good time at yours? Consider this example: You're putting together an event for a group of marketing executives who represent small businesses. They're looking for ways to increase sales by increasing their customer retention rate. So you might focus on how to create better customer relationships and loyalty programs.
Will you invite everyone you know to attend? Or, will you only invite a select few?
Themes – what themes will be present at the event? Are there any particular things that might interest members of the audience?
Content - Choose a topic that will be useful for your audience, but don’t forget about yourself as well! When you want to learn something new, chances are other people want to learn something new too! Make sure there are plenty of opportunities for participants to ask questions and engage with each other during breaks or after the event has ended.
Speakers - who will you invite to speak and why?
Location and venue – where do you want your event to take place? What kind of venue is best for your audience?
We hope this will help you with your event marketing. Stay tuned for more creative event ideas!
