It's never been easier to publish your own book. Well established platforms
are there for you to write and publish your own eBook and print-on-demand
versions also.
If you have existing content that has been written for other purposes (such
as articles or blog posts) then this can be repurposed into an eBook. It can be
a great way to show your expertise in your field.
An eBook can be a valuable part of your event marketing. For example, eBooks
can be given away as premiums at events or as part of a purchase incentive
scheme. This is an effective way of generating leads for future sales
opportunities.
But, also, it's never been harder to get noticed in the crowded marketplace.
So, you need a plan for promoting your eBook, whether that's through social
media, email or other channels. A whole industry has grown up around helping
you to market your titles.
A couple of ideas:
Launch a pre-order campaign - an effective way to generate interest in a
title before it's published is by pre-selling copies of it. Pre-orders help
build excitement about a new title in advance of publication, and they also
help authors secure more sales than they would have otherwise.
Build buzz around the release date - once the book has been published, use
social media to build excitement around its launch date by sharing excerpts
from the book, sample chapters or even entire sections of text with fans and
followers who may not have heard about it yet.
eBooks can be converted into audio books also. With AI text-to-speech
improving, this will become easier. And then perhaps adding augmented reality
into your eBooks.
The possibilities and opportunities are growing!
