If you host virtual events, how does your audience watch them?
If you are live streaming or have them recorded so your audience can view them on-demand, they may well view them through their mobile devices. So, your events should give your audience a good experience on their smartphones and tablets i.e., optimize for mobile devices. Read our earlier blog post 'Digital Venues'
If you want to reach your customers on their mobile devices, there are a number of things you need to do:
1. Get feedback from your audience about how, when and where they use their mobiles.
2. Identify whether they use their mobile devices for work or play, or both.
3. Create content that addresses the needs of your audience on their mobile devices.
You need to make sure that the content is easy to access and navigate. You also need to make sure that it looks good on small screens - e.g., make sure that the text size is sufficiently large enough so that people can read it easily from their phones.
Use a Responsive Design if you have your own website or app. The best way to ensure that your event will look good on all devices is by using a responsive design. This means that the layout of the website adjusts depending on the size of the screen it is being viewed on. So, when someone visits your website from their desktop computer, they will see one thing and when they visit from their tablet or smartphone, they will see another thing. The result is that no matter what screen size someone uses, they have an optimal experience with your content.
We hope this will help you come up with your next event. Stay tuned for more creative event ideas!
