If your event is taking place in a city that has its own dialect, include both the local language and English. Encourage audience participation by asking them questions in their own language during Q&A sessions or closing speeches. Using local languages can help with: - Attracting the right audience - Creating an effective event marketing campaign - Making sure attendees get the most out of their experience Using local languages will help create a sense of community and belonging among attendees as well as give them something t...

Event Marketing: Finding What Interests Your Audience

In event marketing, the savvy event marketer recognizes the power of a targeted approach. Finding the interests of your target audience may help get their attention in your content marketing. For example, while cricket, Bollywood in India and soccer in the UK are undeniably broad passions, your success as an event marketer may be in narrowing the audience base. Zooming in on more nuanced interests within these broader categories allows you to tap directly into the heartbeat of your target audience. In India, the love for cricket and Bollywood is ubiquitous. However, to truly captivate your audience, consider delving into sub-interests. If you're targeting a tech-savvy demographic, an event blending the thrill of cricket with cutting-edge virtual reality experiences might be the perfect match. For the soccer enthusiasts in the UK, finding your niche within this broad interest can help. Perhaps your event caters specifically to fans of a particular team, or it integra...

In the Zone ... Time Zone

If you are doing virtual events, you need to consider the time zones of your (potential) online, remote audience. When you share details of your upcoming events try to include the start and end times for various time zones e.g., EDT, GMT, IST, etc., to make it easy for remote audiences to know when to join in. If you are scheduling social media posts in advance then you will need to select a time zone from which the posts will be sent. If your business has a physical location and it is open during specific hours, then the time zone that your business operates in may make the most sense. This will help ensure that your posts have the best chance of being seen. However, if your business does not have a physical location or is open 24-hours, then you may want to choose the time zone of your largest audience or your head office. So, you need to determine where the largest part of your audience is located. Or, in which time zone is the audience you want to attract. We welcome your feed...

Even if they don't attend your event, they may know someone who does and will pass along the information. You can also increase awareness of your brand by advertising in places where people go for information about events such as newspapers and magazines. You can also advertise on television or radio if this works with your budget. These ads allow you to reach an even wider audience that may not have been aware of your event before seeing or hearing about it this way. Targeting a wider audience can be a good way to get people into your event who might not have heard about it otherwise. It's easier to track the metrics of your event marketing on...

Becoming an Event Creator

Collaboration is great for brand building. But a lot brands waste money renting other people’s audiences. You pay a massive sponsorship fee, slap your logo on a banner, hand out some free samples, and hope someone remembers you. Smart brands, like Red Bull , realized this better than most. Sponsoring but also creating their own events. They’ve become a global media empire. As well as paying to be a part of someone else’s show, they also built their own event brand assets: ⚽ Football Clubs . 🏎️ Formula 1 . 🎮 Esports . 🚵‍♂️ Extreme Sports . By shifting from sponsor to event creator, they unlocked more value. Here is why this model works: 1. Control over the Ecosystem When you own the event, you control the format, the tone, the visuals, and the values. You aren’t at the mercy of another organizer’s values and interests. 2. Content Engine Smart brands don’t need to hunt for content ideas. Their events generate massive hype, UGC (user-generated content), and media assets before, d...

Engagement - experiential marketing - allowing your audience to interact with your products and services can create positive brand associations for them. If you're conducting events to promote your services and/or products, let your customers interact with your products, services and you. If possible, do a demo. Let them get a feel for what value you can give them. One of the best ways to make your customers feel good about your brand is by allowing them to interact with it in some way or another. This could be through sampling at an event booth or even through live demonstrations. Simply talking about your brand can help but getting your audience involved can help you more.
