More on our earlier blog post: 'Collaborating with others for your events is a great idea!' Here are some things you should consider when partnering up:
1) What is the goal of the partnership? The first step is to ask yourself why you want to collaborate in the first place. Is it because you want more people at your event? Or do you want more media coverage? If so, then think about how partnering with another organization will achieve those goals.
2) What does each partner bring to the table? Don't just think about what you can bring as an individual company or organization; consider what value both partners bring together and how that makes for an even stronger collaboration. For example, if one partner has more connections and resources than the other, then it might be worth asking them to take on more responsibility in order to create a truly successful partnership.
3. Build community - If you're hosting a networking event or expo, consider inviting other companies involved in the same industry or related industries to join you. This way, you can create a stronger sense of community among attendees, which will help foster relationships between them that extend beyond the event itself.
4. Provide additional resources - If you're hosting a workshop or seminar on a certain topic, consider bringing in speakers from other organizations who specialize in this area. This will add more depth and expertise to your event while also giving potential participants an opportunity to learn more about related topics from experts in the field.
5. Share resources. Think about what unique resources you could offer that would give attendees something extra special that they wouldn't be able to get anywhere else (such as access to VIP parties).
