Audience attention is a very important part when you are trying to make an impact on someone or deliver some message through your event.

Audience attention is a valuable commodity, and people are not going to give it to you without a clear reason. The audience has a limited time and attention to give you. And distractions are plenty. They may be busy with their own lives or thoughts; they may be tired or bored; they may be distracted by something else going on around them.

Attention is also an indicator of value. People tend to pay more attention to things that are valuable or important to them, so if you want people to care about your message, it had better be important in some way.

You can't expect people to sit through a boring presentation without doing anything else at the same time - especially if it's an online event. 

A good way to get the audience’s attention is to start with a bang. This can be done through humor or an unexpected story or statistic. Whatever it is, make sure it has some relevance to the topic at hand.

Be sure that each point you make builds upon the last one and that each point adds to the overall message you are trying to convey. If it doesn’t, think about cutting it out!
