Further to our last post, event marketing is a continuous process of improvement thru feedback.
You need goals - an end destination where you would like to reach - but along the way (the journey), you need to think about how you improve each time you do an event.
The most successful businesses have a process that they follow that makes sure they are always improving their performance.
Event marketing is no different - it requires a process for improvement.
Here are some questions to help you do that: What was the purpose of this event? What was its goal? How did it achieve that goal? How could it have achieved it better? How many people attended the event? What was their experience like? How could it have been improved? How many people did not attend, but expressed interest in attending another event like this one? What do they want from such an event? How can you cater to their needs better in future events?
You need to get feedback. This should be both qualitative and quantitative. It's important to understand what worked and what didn't work in order for you to improve on your next event.
Then use this feedback as a way of improving your process for future events (and hopefully they will be even better than before!).
Here are some ideas of how you can create your process for continuous improvement:
1) Identify key metrics that matter to you and track them over time (e.g., number of attendees)
2) Ask people what they thought about your event - was it good? How could it be improved? What would make them come back again?
So, what is your event marketing journey?
Hope these event ideas help. Stay tuned for more...
