If you are new in the field of planning and executing events, then finding a mentor is advantageous. A mentor can help you understand the best practices and guide you through the pitfalls of event planning.

Look for someone who has already been where you want to go or who has already done what you want to do (for example, if you want to plan large-scale events). Look for someone with similar values as yours - so that they can relate to your work ethic and goals.
