Do you conduct B2B or B2C events? Maybe you conduct both
types of events at various times. There are similarities and differences in
between these types of events.
There are different strategies if you're conducting B2B
events or B2C events. It's about knowing your audience, in either case, and knowing what they want to achieve.
B2B events may be more formal than B2C events and require
more structure. In a business environment, attendees expect a clearly defined
agenda with the opportunity to meet and mingle with other professionals from
their industry. They also want to learn something new that can help them do
their job better or make them more money.
If you're running an event for B2B customers, keep these
points in mind:
Plan your agenda carefully. Your attendees will have specific questions about their industry and needs, and they expect you to answer them at your event. Make sure you know what those questions are going in, so that when the time comes, you can give attendees the information they need without wasting time on irrelevant questions or tangents.
Make sure your speakers know what they're talking about.
This should go without saying, but it's worth repeating: If you're going to ask
someone to speak at your event, make sure they're qualified to speak on the
topic and have plenty of experience doing so; otherwise, there's no reason for
people to attend (or pay) in advance of seeing who's speaking and what topics
will be covered.
