Create content that helps and gives value to your event audience.
When you're creating your content, it's important to remember that people
learn in different ways. Some will want audio, some will prefer video, and some
may be looking for written content. If you're going to be making multiple types
of content for your event, make sure you're including these different formats
in your channel strategy so that everyone can access the information they need
easily and on their preferred platform.
Think of omni-channel marketing - marketing across multiple channels. Create
content of different types.
Be sure all of your content serves a purpose or solves a problem for
attendees at your event (or potential customers). It doesn't have to be
directly related to the subject matter of your event — but if it is helpful or
valuable for attendees or potential customers, then it will help with drive
registration and attendance at your event as well!
It builds trust and credibility. You'll have an established presence online
before people even decide if they want to attend your event. This will make it
easier for them to make a decision because they trust you already. They'll also
feel like they know you better because they've had time to get familiar with
who you are as a person and as an expert in your field of interest.
You can drive more traffic to your website through blogging and social media
marketing efforts leading up to the event date so that when people land on your
site, they know exactly what they're getting themselves into (and hopefully
sign up!).
