Are you moving in the right direction with your event marketing?
As an event professional, you should conduct regular SWOT analyses for your events. This will help you to identify areas where you need to improve, what's working well and what you can do to better position yourself to meet your goals.
The SWOT analysis is a great tool for identifying your strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats that exist in your industry.
As part of your regular planning process, take some time to consider the
following questions:
Strengths: What are your event's strengths? How can they be used to improve
the quality of your events? Can you leverage these strengths in other parts of
your business?
Weaknesses: What are some weaknesses in your event planning process or
execution? Is there any way to solve these issues? If not, what can you do
about them?
Opportunities: What opportunities do you see for growth within your event
planning industry? Are there new markets or customers who might be interested
in attending your events? How could this help increase revenue?
Threats: Can someone else do the events that you do? How could this affect
sales and profits? What challenges could arise and hurt your event's success?
SWOT analysis is different from your market research but the two are
complimentary in that they will help you achieve the direction you want to go
in.
